We will focus on policy changes and implementation. How to begin building understanding in your school. Where to go after people are on board when to take your first case. This will cover policy changes at the school and district level. Participants will create an implementation plan.
This course will be a two day intensive course, designed for school leadership teams to spend time working through a Restorative Justice implementation plan and the Restorative Justice Assessment Tool. 17th and 18th of May 2018.
Restorative Justice 101. This course builds the foundation of the philosophy of Restorative Justice. We focus on understanding the principals of RJ and applying the practices of RJ to the classroom.
Weekly assigned readings are given 4 days before the scheduled conference call and are due for review during the conference call with course members. This call is an opportunity to review the assignment, ask questions, and discuss real-world implementation. Each phone session is facilitated by two experienced practitioners as well as guest instructors and youth participants.
Week 5 and week 10 incorporate our full day hands on workshop. In this setting, students will have a chance to practice new techniques, role-play real world scenarios, and network with other professionals in this exciting field.
